My food and wine story

I grew up in the lovely region of Alsace in north-east of France. Alsace is not a region like others. Several territory exchanges between France and Germany during WW1 and WW2 led to a strong regional identity. People cherish their land and have a strong sense of respect for their products and their people.

It's the land of stinky Munster cheese and white Riesling wines.

This is how I grew up, surrounded by mindful people and the best farmers products from my parents, gran-parents and local producers.

My best souvenirs are picking fresh eggs from happy and free chicks. And running after them for fun. I loved removing fresh peas from their pods and eating fresh raspberries and tomatoes from the plant.

I remember my gran-ma Eugénie preparing the best homemade quiche lorraine, tarte à l'oignon, tomato sauce and fresh pastas.

At the age of 16, I had my first love affaire with wine. I can still remember the taste of camembert with this exceptional light bodied red wine.

When I was a student, I was so happy to finally have the chance to eat hamburgers and sandwiches.

In 2001, I moved to the French Riviera to begin to work. I immediately fell in love with all the sun-grown fruits and vegetables like tomatoes "coeur de boeuf", clementines and peaches. This is when I started to cook by myself.

I never stopped since then.

After 7 years working in a laboratory for clients like L'Oréal and Beiersdorf, I decided I wanted to become a winemaker and professional wine taster, so I did it for 3 years, giving private wine tasting lessons to wine lovers.

In 2013, I followed my passion and took a six months cooking class at the Lycée Hôtelier de Toulouse and got graduated with the official French "CAP Cuisine".

During that time, I've had the privilege to work in a french Brasserie, and a Michelin star restaurant in Toulouse with the chef Jeremy Morin. I also took a loooot of cooking classes in private cooking schools.

Today, I have the immense pleasure to be a modern French cooking & success coach based in Los Angeles. I'm the founder of a successful online business called Elle & Gourmande.

I'm also what I like to call a "home chef" for my loved ones, passionate about cooking truly healthy and easy French meals that create unforgettable moments.
